My latest project took me back to Port Fairy to record why people love living in their town so much.
I hooked up with filmmaker James Russell to capture vox pops at the Saturday Community Market and then raced back to the editing suite to have it online by the following morning. Granted we stayed up most of the night editing and arguing about what should stay and what should go. Problem was, we filmed way too much great stuff and it was such a shame to see it go. The reason for the quick turn-around was that Port fairy was celebrating their ‘Worlds Most Liveable Community’ win that weekend, along with the runner up over in Ireland. They had organised a live video conference so both communities could have a virtual celebration together on the Sunday. The video was part of that celebration.
We were delirious by 8.00am when we delivered the DVD for a screening on the Port Fairy Village Green but the free pancakes and applause made up for the lack of sleep
